Prevention Guidelines for Men 50 to 64

General / Physical

Annual physical exam (BMI, waist circumference, BP).

Complete blood count & metabolic profile if risk factors.

Cardiovascular & Metabolic

BP yearly.

Lipid profile every 4–6 years, more frequent if risk factors.

Diabetes screening: every 1–3 years.

ECG baseline and repeat if indicated.

Endocrine

Thyroid function every 5 years or if symptoms.

Reproductive / Sexual Health

Prostate health: PSA discussion at 50 (earlier if family history).

Erectile/sexual health counseling.

Cancer Screening

Colonoscopy every 10 years or stool test annually (start at 50).

Lung cancer screening (low-dose CT) if heavy smoker/ex-smoker.

Musculoskeletal

Bone density screening at 50–70 if risk factors (smoking, low weight, fracture history).

Vision & Hearing

Eye exam every 1–2 years.

Hearing test every 2–3 years.

Skin

Annual dermatology exam if high risk.

Dental & Oral

Dental check every 6–12 months.

Counseling

Diet, exercise, weight, alcohol moderation, stress management.

Immunization

Tdap booster every 10 years.

Annual influenza.

Shingles vaccine (after 50).

Pneumococcal if comorbidities.
